Robert Irwin Takes Good Care of ‘most Adorable’ Patient at Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Hospital

The conservationist is more than happy to step up to the plate when it comes to wildlife care.

Robert Irwin has made it clear time and again that he’s not afraid to get down and dirty when it comes to animal welfare.

In his latest batch of evidence, uploaded to Instagram on Oct. 24, he bottle fed a patient in the Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Hospital. Specifically, the footage showed Irwin as he cradled a little animal in his arms as it suckled on a syringe.

Set to an instrumental track by Hollow Coves called “Moments,” the video found Irwin in a navy tee, smiling softy down at the furry creature, who was bundled up in what appears to be a sherpa-lined knit beanie.

The conservationist didn’t identify the species he was nursing, but based on the shape of its snout, it looks to be a quoll; a carnivorous marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea that probably felt right at home in the warm, pouch-like enclosure.

“One of our most adorable Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital patients currently in care,” he captioned the sweet video.

Fans got emotional about the family‘s legacy in the comments, with one calling them “the purest souls on the planet.”

“Your content is always fantastic. Thank you for all you and your family do for the animal kingdom,” another wrote graciously.

“Irwin family = wholesome and caring,” said another. “This is the legacy of the Irwin family and we all support how wonderful you all are.”

Another shared that the 19-year-old’s content had inspired them to “want to work with wildlife [and] help sick and injured wildlife.” They added, “God bless you Robert 🙏.”

“Man y’all are too wholesome I wanna cry,” another admitted.

The late Steve Irwin‘s son recently shared of video of himself releasing the first captive-bred Elseya irwini—a turtle discovered by his father—into a pond for the first time, getting emotional at the “special moment” for the zoo.

We wouldn’t be surprised if “Wholesome” was his middle name.
