Rheinmetall is negotiating with Ukraine on the supply of a new generation Panther KF51 tank, it has a remote control and is equipped with a kamikaze drone

The Armed Forces of Ukraine can be the first in the world to receive a new generation German tank Panther KF51.

This was told by Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger to the Handelsblatt newspaper. According to him, the company is already negotiating with Kiev. If the transfer of tanks is approved by the German government, the first deliveries may begin in 15-18 months. The tank is planned to be produced in Germany or Hungary.

Panther KF51 (aka Panther Kettenfahrzeug 51)  was presented at the Eurosatory-2022 exhibition in Paris a year ago . The tank is the successor to the Leopard 2. It is based on the same chassis and weighs 59 tons. The combat vehicle was equipped with a 130 mm cannon and a 12.7 mm machine gun. In addition, the Panther KF51 boasts the presence of the HERO 120 kamikaze drone, which is manufactured by UVision

Panther KF51 is going to be released in two versions: one will be controlled by a crew of 3 people, and the second will be fully autonomous. That is, the tank can be controlled remotely. Panther KF51 will be able to reach speeds up to 65 km/h. The declared maximum power reserve of the novelty is 500 km.
