Dummerston Conservation Commission to Host Wildlife Rehabilitator Ceacy Henderson

DUMMERSTON — The Dummerston Conservation Commission will be sponsoring a talk at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Dummerston Community Center, 150 West St. The program will be lead by Ceacy Henderson, a wildlife rehabilitator who runs the Colrain Center for Conservation and Wildlife in Colrain, Massachusetts that specializes in the protection of bats.

Henderson is also a writer and artist, and all the profits from the sale of her work are donated to organizations that share her commitment to protecting the environment. Henderson has had a farm raising livestock for over 40 years. She took a wildlife rehabilitation course at one point and ended up responding to a need to rehab bats.

Henderson will present information about the nature of bats through her photography and how to protect them.

The talk has a suggested donation of $5, which is split equally between the Community Center and the Dummerston Conservation Commission.
