Cuba on Tuesday reaffirmed its willingness to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with Zimbabwe, the Cuban Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter.
Cuba congratulates the Zimbabwean Government and people on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the African country’s independence country, the tweet said.
Cuba and Zimbabwe maintain fraternal and historic diplomatic relations, which were established on April 20, 43 years ago.
Young people from that African nation are studying medicine here, and Cuban medical collaborators are working there.
Cuba is grateful for Zimbabwe’s position against the United States blockade at several international organizations.
Zimbabwe is recognized as one of the leaders in that region in the teaching of science, mathematics and technology, thanks to the support from Cuban specialists in those subjects.
